We are actively looking for a seasoned and experienced Director of Sales and Marketing for our client, a luxury hotel in Tokyo, International brand.

Some key characteristics of the successful candidate would be:

  • Seasoned and experienced mature professional who is confident and has a thorough knowledge of all aspects of sales and marketing including Room sales, Banquets and Conferences

  • A proven track record of success in this role with a minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in this role and a minimum experience of 15 years in the luxury hotel field.

  • Should have a very strategic and logical mind

  • Should be a very driven and positive individual with a great energy towards driving the business

  • Should be a very strong leader with proven people management skills, including nurturing and developing talent and driving the teams towards achieving their goals.

  • Be able to understand the big picture when analyzing business needs as well as the ability to micro analyze and manage any business requirement

  • Consistently drive results in all segments; leisure, corporate, group, MICE, FIT, IGI and ADR.

  • Should have superb communication skills in terms of communicating clear vision and direction to the teams, colleagues, peers and subordinates as well as senior management.

  • Be an assured and competent motivator of people, with enhanced people management skills.

  • Be sought after both by customers and the team as an engaging individual who represents the luxury brand in a very suitable way.

  • Be extremely articulate in expressing ideas both in writing and verbally.

  • Should be culturally sensitive in winning business as well as leading the team.

  • Preferable experience in Japan or key cities in Asia would be an advantage, other dynamic city experience in other parts of the world would also be considered. Preferable background in international luxury hotels.

  • Someone who has a pre-opening experience since this is a cluster role
